What I've been up to

Well, the new blog didn't work out because I'm a lazy shit, and besides that Auslander has stagnated yet again due to exams coming up in my school. I haven't completely forgot about it though, I did a concept shot of Oiseau.

Like usual, it's unfinished. I suck. I'm also redrawing the main characters.
Also started redrawing lady helpers, but I haven't finished Stark yet.
Some Items.
Icons, from Left to Right:
Potions, Weapons, Shields, Armour, Accesories, and "Miscellaneous" items.

Items, from Right to Left, Top to Bottom:

Eddy's Soul: The wandering spirit of a murderous maniac named Eddy. In this form he is practically harmless. No one knows how he died...

Long Sword: A regular and unremarkable sword. (Gerade)

Eddy Sword: The soul of Eddy infused with a sword. It's powerful, but make sure to keep it on a short leash, just in case. (Gerade)

Big Bow: A wooden bow that is larger than average. (Zurückgezogen)

Sword Hilt: The hilt of a sword. Can be combined with other items to create new weapons.

Sword Slab: The raw metal blade of a sword. Can be combined with other items to create new weapons.

Poison Popper: A gun that shoots poisonous bubbles. Looks suspiciously like a children's toy for some reason. (Zurückgezogen)

Air Gloves: Unremarkable Gloves used for close combat. (Rau)

Silver Pistol: Ordinary pistol made of metal. (Zurückgezogen)

Newt's Eye: A jewel named after it's similarities to a Newt's eyes. Increases Magic Offense and Magic Defense.

Heart Quiver: A container for arrows with the sign of the Heart on it. It can hold up to 25 arrows.

Pickle Boxing Gloves: Boxing Gloves infused with Pickles. Delicious and painful! Serve hot with a side of french fries. (Rau)

Wood Staff: Wooden Staff made of oak. (Rau)

Wood Spear: A sharp, pointy wooden spear. Especially useful if you're good at javelin toss. (Gerade, Rau)

Boxing Gloves: Gloves used for the wonderful business of punching people. (Rau)

Chewy Bomb: An explosive shaped like Chewy Douglass. Does damage to an enemy once.

Tao Quiver: A container for arrows with the sign of Yin Yang on it. It can hold up to 50 arrows.

If you noticed, there's one other thing that I think would be cool (and probably easy to implement too!)
Being able to combine items to create new ones (Eddy's Soul + Long Sword = Eddy Sword.)
Lots of clever weapon possibilities.
So yeah, that's basically what I've been up to.

New Blog!

Hello smiling visitors! Please visit the new Auslander Blog! This one's not going to be updated for a while.

New Auslander Blog! (http://auslandergame.wordpress.com/)

Unfortunately it's still under construction. Don't expect anything fancy for a little bit.

Some More, I suppose

It's been a few months but I haven't forgot about you Auslander!

Well, to tell you the truth, time is of the essence, and as usual I have none of it.

On the bright side I started work on the enemies again and I'm going to commision someone to do the map.

So I guess things are looking up just as long as I can keep updating regularly.

P.S. Don't do drugs.

Auslander Story Line V2

You play as Auslander, a young homeless orphan living on the sunny isle of Woricessing. You're only companion is your dog, Einsam, who has accompanied you since you were just but a tyke. One day, while relaxing in the field, a strange man appears. Faster than you can counter, he steals your dog, and just as fast as he appeared, he disappears. The only lead he left behind was a red sash and the burning image of his smiling mask in your consciousness. Confused, miserable and defeated, you rest your head into your hands and sob like a baby penguin.

But you won't give up that easy! You stowaway on a ship to the mainland, McKingroh! You're sure you'll find the culprit there! Something tells you this is the right direction to go in...

You arrive shortly afterward in the port town of Oiseau (Wa-zoo) , looking stylish and ready for adventure. Only, you have no money, friends, places to stay, or leads to where the mysterious kidnapper could be. But wait, friend! All is not lost! You soon make friends with the local shopkeeper Orbit and he not only lends you some traveling equipment for free, he points you in the direction of the shadiest places of McKingroh! Armed with only a few instruments of defense, some foods, and a tent, you set out on a journey to find your beloved dog!

SPOILERS BELOW

Once you get to the second level, Redwood, you'll be confronted by a gang of slightly irritable Kobolds and their godfather, Don Kobold. Just as the fearless warlord prepares to bust you up, you're saved by either 1) A powerful female knight or 2) a beautiful maiden of magic. Afterward she talks of her kidnapped cat,
Freund, and before you know it you're traveling together.

The third level's boss is Dire Smiler. That's not really a plot point, I just wanted to get that out there.

Much much later on in the game, once you've found out the identity of your kidnapper, you break into his lair, the Den of Mischief. Once you defeat him, you discover of his evil plan to create the ultimate homunculus (Composed from all sorts of different animals from around the globe) capable of gathering all the useless knick-knacks in the world...By Force. In the Heart of Mischief, you must first fight your mutated dog, which has now melded into other mutated animals to form a gigantic behemoth of mindless rage. Then you must fight the refined form of the beast, a creature so frightening it inspires fear into even the bravest of man...Chewy Douglass.

After you beat the final boss some stuff happens...I haven't really worked out that part.

But that's what I've come up with so far.

Project Suspended?

As it turns out, the project might be suspended for quite some time.

If you (our sole reader) haven't noticed yet, Flag Staff hasn't posted for awhile. This is because he's in Malaysia. At boarding school. And probably won't be able to do too many images.

No images == No game.

Sorry.

(And to Flag Staff, whenever you're ready, I am)

Yo

My name is Eric - I use the username "spearfish" whenever possible, so you might have seen me around on the internet. But probable not.

I'm at camp until mid august, so don't expect much from me. I'm only posting because D-Shaft is yelling at me to contribute something to the blog.

Anyways, I'm the rad programmer behind Auslander. It'll be great. Just wait.

Maybe if this goes well (which it has so far) I'll work with D-Shaft and sba in the future for more projects, which all you little Auslander fans can eagerly lap up.

For now,
Eric
